Abstract

Bandwidth management becomes absolutely necessary for multi-service network, the more
numerous and varied applications that can be served by a network of influence on the use of links in the
network. The links are required to be able to handle user needs proficiency level in these applications, even
though in a state of congestion, there should be a guarantee that the link can still function properly despite
the explosion of demand applications.
Bandwidth management holding role in governing what types of applications can access links, in
addition to bandwidth management is able to provide guarantee to the application that received the
allocation of bandwidth to continuously send data in accordance with the allocations, despite the congestion
in the network even in certain circumstances when the bandwidth allocation owned by an application /
service is not used then by the Bandwidth Manager idle bandwidth allocation can be transferred temporarily
to the class who are experiencing backlog / queue heap, this gives an advantage to accelerate the loss of
classroom backlog while optimizing use of existing links.
Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) as the implementer of bandwidth management is freely available
and can run on LINUX operating system platform is a decent Bandwidth Manager analyzed their advantages
and disadvantages, are expected to use appropriate and accurate will create a network that implements
Bandwidth Manager is to work optimally
