SINGLE AUTHENTIFICATION FOR MULTIPLE ACCESS WITH SSO (SINGLE SIGN ON)
Abstract
Single Sign On Technology (SSO) is a technology that allowed a network user to access the source in
the network with just using one user account. SSO is an authentification system for a user, with just one login, a
user can access some application without having to log in to each application. It has two part which was Single
Sign On (one application login, then another apps will be included in SSO automatically.) and Single Sign Out
(one application logout, so did another apps will be logged out automatically). To unify the applications, it need
a site that knowns as a web portal. With a web portal that uses the Single Sign On (SSO) method, it means that
every user just have to had one username and one password. And if you want to get services or fascilities in web
portal, this user just have to login once and he can use all the fascilities or application services in the web
portal. This thing can simplify user in using the application. User don’t have to remember too many accounts,
only one account and didn’t have to login repeatedly. This thing can make a data organizing more easier, so the
user data security will be more guaranteed, because its using a user data storage that was centralized.
